Best Graduation Gifts for Everyone on Your List

With 2020 behind us, we are going all out for graduation celebrations this year. Dust off your cotton candy and snow cone machines, rent a tent, contact the caterers, and pop some champagne! While it’s standard to bring an envelope with some cash to most celebrations, we challenge you to up your gift game this year and personalize. Here’s a roundup of our favorite gifts for every grad in your life!

For the college grad

Welcome to the real world - they’ve made it! These #adulting gifts may be practical, but they are no doubt appreciated, too.

  • Cookbook & Cookbook Stand - Time to learn how to cook! Help your grad ease into it with one of our favorite simple cookbooks, and a chic cookbook stand to go with it. If your grad is tech savvy and into their NYTimes Recipe box, this cookbook stand can also double as a stand for your tablet.

  • Hydroflask Travel Tumbler - This is a staple for almost every organizer on our team (we’re basically their brand ambassadors). Rather than having many mediocre water bottles, stick to one (or two) that gets the job done. We simply think everyone needs one.

  • StitchFix Subscription - I know I said we are branching out from the “money in an envelope” gift, but hear me out. New grads are going to need a wardrobe refresh. StitchFix is a thoughtful option allowing them to get some quality items (personalized to their style) and feel confident! Plus, the process is a lot of fun.

For the high school grad

Arguably the most-celebrated accomplishment, whether off to college miles away or jumping into the workforce, we love these ideas to help remind your grads of home and get them organized and excited for their future.

  • A well-deserved vacation and practical traveling accessories - My mom surprised me by sending my friends and I to a local beach house for a weekend at the end of summer before we were off to different colleges. We made a ton of memories and it was the perfect, bittersweet last hurrah. We totally felt like adults ready to take on the world. These Pack-It Cubes and Toiletry Bags are perfect to keep their backpack or luggage organized throughout their trip.

  • Fujifilm Instax Mini Camera - Although teens are often taking hundreds of photos daily with their smartphones, there’s something special about waiting for Polaroid photos to develop. The photos make awesome keepsakes for parties, too (wait-- they won’t be at parties-- right?).

For your friends

Okay, maybe  you have a lot of parties to attend and don’t want to break the bank. No shame, you have a lot of friends! For the person who you don’t know what to get, or want to spend a little less on:

  • Office Accessories - Either for their dorm room, office, or WFH set up! We are still loving the acrylic trend, but this marble pen holder and stapler are also beautiful.

  • The Defining Decade by Meg Jay - I hate to be dramatic, but this book is life changing for 20-somethings. I read this when I was 22 and loved the real stories from therapy sessions and practical advice.

  • Noted Candles and Diffusers - Our Noted Candles are amongst the most popular item at The Little Details. You can’t go wrong with any of their fresh scents.

  • A framed map of your home or college town - This thoughtful gift preserves memories made and looks nice in a college dorm or first apartment.

 For the preschool/kindergarten grad

We want our little ones to know they are destined for great things. Making the step into first grade should be celebrated, too!

  1. Stash Multi Room Organizer - Start them young! This is great for organizing craft supplies, school supplies, or both! It’s the perfect “big kid” gift as they transition to elementary school.

  1. What We’ll Build: Plans For Our Together Future by Oliver Jeffers - A beautiful picture book about life’s endless opportunities.

  1. Bentgo Box - An organized lunch? Sign us up! This design keeps foods separate and has a ton of style and color options!
