Our Favorite Organizing Projects of 2021

Another year in the books! 2021 was our busiest and best year yet. We’ve grown as a team of 8 and organized all nooks and crannies up and down the east coast. While so many of our projects are enjoyable and satisfying, these are some of our favorites!

Project #1: Settling in Somerville

We got to organize all the little details of this home! We loved working with these clients for so many reasons and getting to organize their whole house was fantastic! Organizing is a domino effect. You might start in one room and quickly end up in another. Whether or not you realize it, your house is all interconnected and if any of the systems aren’t functioning properly it can derail the rest of them. Hence, us organizing every nook and cranny including their entryway, closets, kitchen, bathrooms, and basement. 

Something super unique about this project was that we created what we call a “triangle pantry.” Check out the shape of the design! It’s common to not have enough pantry space, so we had to get creative. We ended up using Elfa shelf trays from The Container Store in their basement stairwell to increase their amount of pantry storage. We love utilizing each and every inch of vertical space we possibly can.

The other fun fact about this project was that they shortly listed this house for sale, not because they didn’t love it but because they had been casually looking for a much larger home to gut renovate and make their own and they found it right around the corner. Because we had organized every inch of their place and installed all new closet systems, the house sold incredibly quickly, for top dollar, and to another professional organizer. How funny is that?! The best part is that we get to start the process all over again with them in their new house that they’re fully renovating to make absolutely perfect from the get-go.


Project #2: New Hampshire Nesting

New Hampshire was a multi-phase project. Our clients sold their condo in Boston and moved to their New Hampshire home full-time. The first phase of this project included a huge purge of their condo to get them ready to be packed up and moved. We coordinated with our resources so all unwanted belongings were distributed to their children, donated and consigned.

Next we packed up their condo. One of the many benefits of using professional organizers to pack up your space is to ensure that everything goes into boxes in an organized fashion so everything comes out that way on the other end. That way you don’t have a mess that takes you months to unpack from. We sort like-with-like and label each box appropriately. Next, Gentle Giant swooped in, made a few stops to drop off belongings at their children’s homes and brought the remaining boxes to New Hampshire. 

Before we moved everything to New Hampshire, we had a thorough consultation there to look at their NH inventory and make a plan to create room for all of the Boston inventory. It was a challenge to say the least since their New Hampshire home was already full.

While our clients were vacationing, the entire team spent the week in New Hampshire unpacking every single box and putting all their belongings away. The clients were thrilled to come back to an organized home! 



Project #3: Nantucket Nectar 

We traveled to Nantucket for our annual visit to our client’s seasonal home. We organized this home top to bottom when they first moved in and now are on a maintenance plan to make sure all systems are functioning properly. During our time here this year we tweaked the Elfa system in the garage for added sports equipment and outdoor gear. 

We love getting a change of scenery every once in a while and Nantucket is that perfect place. We even extended our trip for some extra R&R!



Project #4: Holiday Decorating Delight

Melanie Casey, a jeweler in Andover, MA, hired us to get their office decorated for the holidays! We focused on wreaths, garland, and a killer tree display. One of the best parts of this project is that we didn’t just get to decorate the office, we also got to decorate Melanie’s home! 

We sourced and cut down trees from Central Massachusetts and ordered all the supplies from wrapping paper to ornaments. Not only does her family and staff get to enjoy the holiday decorating, but any clients that come to the office get to experience it, too!
