Our Favorite Project of 2025
As a professional organizer, I’ve had the privilege of transforming countless spaces over the years. Each project brings its own unique challenges and rewards, but this year, one project truly stood out as my favorite: organizing every square inch of a 4 story house in Weston, MA. This took over 230 hours, all members of our team, a few U-Haul trucks and a LOT of diligent planning to pull it all off.
The Challenge
This client, like many of our clients, was juggling work, family life with 3 young kiddos, and a house filled with items they had outgrown. She tried to get it under control over the past few years, but it was a daunting task for one person to complete. She realized it was time for a complete overhaul and we had the (wo)manpower to get it done before the start of the school year.
The Vision
Our goal was simple yet ambitious: create a functional, clutter-free space that would foster focus and inspiration. We wanted to incorporate smart storage solutions, declutter unnecessary items, and personalize all spaces to each family members needs all while they were away for 2 months during the summer.
The Process
Assessment & Planning: We started by assessing what was working and what wasn’t in every room of the house. We then took measurements of the garage and all closet spaces for redesign.
Decluttering: We sorted through years of items in every space, and moved all discard items to the garage, where we then sorted the items by donation destination. For items that couldn't be donated, we listed them on Facebook Marketplace and coordinated pickup times. Here is what the pile looked like at the very beginning!
Smart Storage Solutions: We installed 8 closet systems and more bins, drawer organizers, and dividers than we could count!
The kids’ playroom became an organized haven with designated storage for toys and clothes. We used our 16x8x5 bins to create division within the pull out drawers.
The kids' bedrooms were decluttered for a peaceful retreat. We used these woven bins for the bedroom toys.
The cedar closet became a storage room for all home decor, gift wrap and memorabilia. We designed and installed the Container Store’s Elfa System in this space to make it as adaptable as possible as the needs of the family change moving forward.
The garage was turned into a practical storage area, freeing up driveway space.
Revision
Once everything was complete, we had the family live in the space for a few weeks before continuing to refine the systems. After they were able to identify what worked well and what needed improvement, we came back for a second full house walkthrough to tweak all of the systems we had put in place.
Maintenance Plan
We’ve scheduled ourselves to go to the home seasonally for a full year to keep the space organized going forward and make any tweaks as needed.
The Result
The transformation was nothing short of inspiring. This client can now enjoy a home that feels spacious, calm, and welcoming. They can find what they need quickly, spend less time cleaning, and have more quality time together. The children’s rooms are tidy, the kitchen is functional, and the garage is now a useful space rather than a dumping ground.
Every home has the potential to be a sanctuary. If your space feels overwhelming, remember that a strategic approach to decluttering and organizing can transform your entire life. Here’s to more house-wide transformations and happier, more organized homes in the year ahead!
