How to Efficiently Organize Your Bathroom

When it comes to home organization, bathrooms often get overlooked. They're typically one of the smallest rooms in the house, yet they need to store a surprising number of items—towels, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and more. Without the right storage solutions, your bathroom can quickly become cluttered and chaotic. The good news? With a little creativity and the right approach, you can find bathroom storage options that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

1. Assess Your Needs First

Before diving into bins and baskets, take stock of what you actually need to store. Group items into categories—daily essentials, occasional use, backup supplies—and consider how often you access them. This will help you decide what needs to be within arm’s reach and what can be tucked away.

2. Maximize Vertical Space

If you’re short on square footage, think vertically:

  • Wall-mounted shelves can be placed above the toilet, near the vanity, or even in the shower.

  • Tall storage cabinets or towers make use of unused corners.

  • Over-the-door organizers are perfect for storing smaller items like hair tools or extra toiletries.

3. Utilize Hidden Storage

Don’t underestimate the power of hidden storage:

  • Vanity drawers with dividers keep makeup, razors, and toothbrushes organized.

  • Under-sink organizers with stackable drawers or sliding trays make the most of tricky plumbing areas.

4. Think Inside the Box (and Baskets)

  • Matching baskets give a cohesive look and hide visual clutter.

  • Labels help everyone in the household know where things belong. Your decision in label tape makes a difference too! Do you want it to be subtle and small or bold black ink on white tape so you can't miss it?

5. Don’t Forget the Aesthetics

Just because it’s storage doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Choose pieces that complement your bathroom’s style:
