Project Profile: Don’t Move, Get Organized!

We love to support fellow local businesses and were so excited when Fig Balloon Co in Beverly, MA reached out to us. Their initial consultation call focused on their need for a new location due to insufficient storage space. However, before planning a move, we knew a thorough investigation was essential.

Stasia went out to do a walkthrough with the Fig Balloon Co team and quickly learned that they didn't need a new space, they just needed some new systems. For such a fun business, their office felt crowded and was not inspiring for their team.

They started by sorting and purging unneeded items, and then the design work began! With an inventory, an understanding of their workflow, and all of the Elfa knowledge you could ask for, Stasia brought a new office layout to life.

One of the core parts of our job is reimagining spaces. This always starts with Sorting and Purging and Assigning is not just putting things back where they were, but considering the different layouts that might be most efficient and effective. This project was a great example of reworking the existing space and storage to make every day a little bit easier.

Main Showroom

When you walk into the showroom now, it feels much larger! Moving the colorful (but bulky) hanging fringe away from the workstations pulls your eye to the back wall and storing all of the odd-shaped balloon frames in the back room offers the team a lot more space to move around.

The front room workstations need to be clean and clear to allow the Fig Balloon Co team to work their creative magic as efficiently as possible. Installing Elfa above the desks provides tidy and easy to maintain storage for their everyday essentials and were customized to each team member's unique workstation needs.

Clearing out the clutter on the right wall allowed for all of their amazing balloon creations to have a space to live until they are picked up or delivered. These can be very large and bulky so lots of open space was a must!

These bins of balloons were such a treat to work with. This unique storage solution was just right for the needs of the company, but we adjusted their placement slightly and replaced some of the shelving to make this area even more efficient and utilized some previously unused space above them to hold balloon bundles that are magnetized to the ceiling.

Storing the balloon fringe in their own area separate from everything else and up high makes the hallway leading to the back storage room feel much less crowded, but also more fun! The showroom is bursting with color and we absolutely love that.

Back Storage Room

The storage space is narrow and needed some serious shelving to get everything off the floor. We installed a full wall of Elfa on the right to hold a ton of balloon making supplies. We reused another shelf on the left that they already to hold cleaning and maintenance supplies to keep everything visible and easily accessible.

We were so glad to have the opportunity to work with this team and their beautiful space! We hope they will be able to continue to enjoy this space for many years to come.
